The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM and the Police Service Commission Chairman and Former Inspector General of Police, Dr Solomon Arase CFR robust relationship has form a strong synergy between the duo in recent times, it is truly blistering the recent Nigeria Police Force functionality and capacity.
It’s a clear departure from the past and where both institutions are at logger head over fundamental issues, since the legal interpretation of the statutory functions the smooth sailing of both in service delivery to the Nigerian people is not unconnected to the above couple with the fact of the duo institution raising the bar of performances in all sector.
These have been notice through recruitment, screening, promotions, approval and other administrative services to the betterment of the Nigeria Police Force. The recent promotion in the Nigeria Police Force signature yesterday event in Nigeria Police Zone 2, Zonal Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.
The promotion of the officers involved were purely merited. Which led to the elevations of officers to their various next ranks from Assistant Commissioner of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police which was based on their exceptional track records of merit among others.
According to the Zone 2 Zonal Command PPRO, SP Ayuba T. Umma, the newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Durosinmi Olatoye will be decorating the officers in collaboration with the Lagos State Police Commissioner, CP Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha mni, Psc in the presence of their elated families.
The new promoted officers are, DCP Olubode Fakeye, DCP Oludotun Odubona, DCP Oliver Ezirim, DCP Gbenga Adeoye ACP Wada among others.
DCP Gbenga Adeoye who spoke on the behalf of the promoted officers applauded the decision of the Police Service Commission Chairman, Dr Solomon Arase CFR and his team, The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun PhD, NPM for uphelding the dignity of the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring the adequate promotions and approval which is base on merits, according to the newly promoted officer, DCP Gbenga Adeoye this will spur and ginger us to do more , encourage and awaken our nerves to put in more efforts in building a viable and appreciable Police Force for the overall interest of the country, he said.
While the Lagos State Police Commissioner CP Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha mni, Psc enjoined the officers that the task to build a better Policing have no alternative that officers promoted should go and justify the mettle placed on their shoulders in discharge of duties.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Durosinmi Olatoye who is the host of the occasion, admonished the officers to continue to justify the merit of their promotion to the surrounding they find themselves on the responsibility of a better Policing in the already challenged environment.
Families and friends felicitate with the newly promoted officers and applauded the police hierarchy of the merited recognition while encouraging the officers to ensure pure professionalism in the line of duty.
