Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has today given Nollywood veteran, Mrs Lanre Hassan (Mama Awero) a three bedroom flat in the newly commissioned Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Housing Estate, Igbogbo.
The Governor who is presently commissioning various newly-completed projects at Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA secretariat complex, recently constructed 2.2km Igbe-Igbogbo Road and Community Radio Station, Ipakodo, among others gave the 70 year-old actress amidst admiration of onlookers.
While presenting the house key, Governor Sanwo olu said; “You don’t have to celebrate them when they died, we can celebrate them when they are still alive.
These are our Nollywood stars that have worked for over 30 to 40 years and they need to be celebrated. Congratulations.”
Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Housing Estate, Igbogbo, has 360 units comprising 120 one-bedroom, 120 two-bedroom and 120 three-bedroom flats.
The estate was constructed by the Ministry of Housing and were built on an expanse of 6.24 hectares of land in Igbogbo, in Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area.
The estate which is one of the products of the state’s Ministry of Housing was brought to perfection by the present administration through direct budgetary allocation.
Each building was a mix of home units of various dwelling types, designed for low and middle income earners.
The estate also comes with infrastructure such as water treatment plant, central sewage treatment plant, street lights, spaces for community activities, road network, cars park and drains as well as perimeter fence.
