Popular Gospel singer, Tope Alabi has said that the day she wanted to sing the song “Oniduro Mi” the Holy Spirit asked her to Shut up
She was speaking in a video which is now trending online.
In the said video, during a ministration, she spoke in yoruba loosely translated as :”Someone will now sing and say ‘Oniduro Mi, E Seun O’. Let me state that God is not my own guarantor, he is more than that.
Infact, the day I wanted to sing that song, the Holy Spirit asked me to Shut Up
She further stated that her position was not to discredit anyone’s song but it is imperative to always ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and direction before churning out a song. :”You do not just release a song as it comes to your mind, you need to be guided by the Holy Spirit so you can do the right thing. “
The said opinion by Alabi has been heavily criticised for her comments over the song.
Although she didn’t mention any artiste in the trending video, it will be recalled that several artistes have sang different versions of the song ‘Oniduro Mi’
