• Dedicates award to CG Audi
The National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gender Desk Officer at the National HQ, Abuja was last Thursday honoured with the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) Innovative Officer Award.
The award which was presented at the Association’s annual conference held at the Civic center, Victoria island in Lagos which had in attendance the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi represented by Commandant of NSCDC in Lagos state, CC Usman I. Alfadarai; Chairman of Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase represented by AIG Ade Shinaba (retd); Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun represented by the Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi; Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit (SFU), CP Margaret Ochalla; Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Oqua Efiom Etim; Board Member, Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan; Assistant Controller General, Federal Fire Service, ACG Chika Njoku; AIG Kunle Asafa rtd; Acting Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information, NASPRI, Lt. Col. AY Ndulge; General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Bolaji Oreagba represented by the agency’s Head of Enforcement, Kayode Odunuga; Head of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria, Dr. Patrick Areghan represented by the National PRO, Moyosola; alongside many other dignitaries.
While receiving her award during the conference themed ‘Proliferation of Lethal Weapon As Security Threat: Arm-full, Harm-full in New Dispensation’, the young, exceptional Olabisi Atanda thanked the media association for the credence.
She praised the NSCDC CG Ahmed Audi whom she described as ‘mentor’ for the leadership and guidance that he provides which has made the security agency to thrive in the discharge of its mandate.
She also thanked the current National PRO of the agency, CSC Babawale Afolabi and the former who is now the Commandant of the NSCDC FCT Command, CC Olusegun Odumosu for giving her the wings to fly.
With a career in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Olabisi Atanda has demonstrated her commitment to public service and media expertise. She spent over six years as a dedicated spokesperson, presenting for the NSCDC on both live television and radio. Her communication skills and media prowess have played a pivotal role in conveying the agency’s messages effectively.
Olabisi has held several key roles within the NSCDC, including Media and Publicity Officer for the NSCDC Osun State Command, as well as serving as the Public Relations Officer for the same command. Her dedication to her duties and exceptional communication abilities have made her an asset to the organization.
Currently, Olabisi serves as a Gender Desk Officer at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja, further highlighting her commitment to gender-related issues within the security sector. Her dedication to promoting gender equality and peace has earned her recognition as an Ambassador for Peace.
Olabisi is not only an accomplished professional but also a lifelong learner. She holds a first degree in Psychology from the prestigious University of Ibadan and a second degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nassarawa State University, Keffi.
She is a fellow of two esteemed professional institutes: the Institute of Human and Natural Resources and the World Institute of Peace. Her continuous pursuit of knowledge is evident through her participation in various local and international training programs, including the ECOWAS Security Sector Reform initiative.
