
Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, on Wednesday, approved the appointment of 10 new Permanent Secretaries for the state.
In a circular signed by the Head of Service, Harry Udu, explains that the new permanent secretaries are to strengthen the leadership of the Civil Service.
The circular which said the appointment took effect from December 1, 2020, gave the names of the newly appointed permanent secretaries as Dr Christy Nwando Obiano, Ndidi Benedicta Onuigbo, Dr Chiedozie Lazarus Okafor and Chinedu Samuel Ike.
Others are: Ebele G. C. Okonkwo, Anuli Ngozi Iwouno, Esq., Okwy Theodora Igwegbe, Esq Mrs Ifeyinwa Gertrude, Uzoka, Ejike Edwin Uzochukwu and Anthony Chike Idigo, Esq.
In another development, the governor has described the sudden death of the former state Publicity Secretary of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Chinedu Nkwonta as “The cruellest blow early in the New Year’’.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr James Eze, Obiano expressed shock at the sudden passing of Nkwonta, saying that his death left Anambra people in deep mourning, so early in the New Year.
Obiano described the deceased as a great party man, a lover of life and a humanist whose rare touch lit up surfaces far and near.
