Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and the President, Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, have showered praises on Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited over the Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ileogbo, Osun State.
Last week, Pinnick was a guest at the site of the academy to inspect the facilities, as well as the pace of ongoing construction at the site.
After the inspection, the NFF president paid courtesy visits to Governor Oyetola and Oba Ogunwusi.
PUCL is establishing a sports academy with classrooms, teaching, sports and tourism facilities that include a golf course, hotel, helipad and football stadium with practice pitches and athletics tracks.
The academy also has indoor facilities for basketball, tennis, table tennis, handball, volleyball and badminton.
Olanrewaju Adeleke, MD, PUCL, stated that the academy would begin operations before the end of the year and offer full scholarships to 60 students (20 from Osun and the others from the other parts of Nigeria).
Speaking further, he added that the company would build mini stadiums in Ile Ife and Iragbiji as well as sponsor the state’s Principals’ Cup among secondary schools for the next three years.
Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi, said the provision of sports facilities would keep the youths engaged..
He said, “When you keep the youths engaged in these productive activities, you are not only helping them, you are helping the nation. A healthy nation will be prosperous and very peaceful. What Adeleke and Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited are doing should be supported and commended by everyone.”
